A Welcoming Oasis

Since childhood our out-of-state client has spent summers enjoying all that Central Oregon has to offer.  In adulthood the opportunity to build a home for family in this place which holds such special memories materialized.  A site in the Sisters area with views of the iconic Cascades as well as surrounding pines and habitat vibrant with wildlife was the perfect start for the project.

Exterior building forms are strong, yet simple.  Timber elements, natural stone, wood cladding, and a palette of the warm colors found in the natural surroundings are comfortably welcomed by the site.  For the interior…a mix of local natural finish materials along with a nod to semi-urban aesthetics.  Views are plentiful and the abundant sunlight is welcomed, yet managed.
